Privacy Policy for WooCommerce Quick Product Editor

Overview

WooCommerce Product Quick Edit is a Chrome extension that allows you to edit WooCommerce product data directly from your store’s front‑end. The extension is designed to operate using only the minimum data required to provide this functionality. This policy explains what data is processed, how it is stored, and how it is used.

Data We Process

1. Data You Explicitly Provide

  • Store URL(s)
  • WooCommerce REST API consumer key and consumer secret

2. Data Created During Use

  • Extension settings (e.g., session timeout preferences)
  • Local product cache to improve performance
  • Optional audit log entries of edits
  • Optional diagnostic/error entries used for troubleshooting

3. Data Accessed Only When Needed

  • Current tab URL (used to match the page to a configured store)
  • WooCommerce product data and store settings required to display and submit edits

How Data Is Stored

  • All extension data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome extension storage.
  • API keys are encrypted before being saved locally.
  • No extension data is intentionally transmitted to third‑party analytics, advertising platforms, or external services unrelated to core functionality.

How Data Is Used

Data is used solely to:

  • Authenticate requests to your WooCommerce store
  • Load, display, and update product information
  • Improve performance through caching
  • Support optional troubleshooting and diagnostic workflows

Data Sharing

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not share extension data with data brokers or advertising networks.
  • Data is only sent to endpoints required for extension functionality, primarily your own WooCommerce/WordPress site APIs.

Permissions and Scope

  • Host permissions are requested per store domain and are used only to enable extension features on approved WooCommerce sites.
  • You may remove domain permissions at any time by deleting the store configuration or uninstalling the extension.

Retention and Deletion

You can delete all stored data at any time by:

  • Removing store connections
  • Clearing cache or log data in the extension settings
  • Using the “Clear All Data” option in the extension
  • Uninstalling the extension

Security Practices

  • API credentials are encrypted before being stored locally.
  • The extension requires HTTPS store URLs for API operations.
  • Sensitive credential values are not logged in diagnostic or audit entries.

Children’s Privacy

This extension is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, a new version will be published with an updated effective date. Continued use of the extension after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
