# What if some child sitemaps are inaccessible?

For sitemap indexes (sites with multiple child sitemaps), the tool checks each child sitemap individually.

**If some show as inaccessible:**

- Those specific sitemap URLs return errors (404, 403, 500)
- Check the URLs are correct in your sitemap index file
- Verify those files actually exist on your server
- Check server permissions aren't blocking access

**Impact:** URLs in inaccessible child sitemaps won't be discovered by search engines. Fix these promptly to ensure complete site indexing.
