# How do I get the ArkForge API key for external checks?

1. Open the **Website Status** tool and select **API Key**.
2. Choose **Open ArkForge Sign‑Up**.
3. Create a free ArkForge account.
4. Copy your API key (it usually begins with `mcp_`).
5. Paste it into the app and confirm with **Verify & Save**.

The key is stored securely on your device. Local checks always work; external checks (France) require the key.
